Athens’ Abandoned International Airport

Opened in 1938 and closed in 2001, Ellinikon International Airport is now abandoned because it was replaced by Athens International Airport. It was the international airport of Athens in Greece for sixty years. The airport served as the Greek capital’s main hub for commercial air travel and during the Olympics games in 2004, they used it.
