The Katagiri Hotel

We are in the city of Izu, located in Shizuoka Prefecture, to discover a hotel that has been abandoned for about twenty years now. The weather isn’t exactly encouraging us to get out of the car—the conditions are disastrous with this torrential rain. The only advantage we can draw from this situation is that there is absolutely no one outside, so we’ll be able to slip inside the hotel without risking getting caught red-handed. Without any difficulty, finding the main door wide open, we walk into a greenish-colored entrance hall. Lovers of good taste, good evening.

The place is quite dangerous; we didn’t even attempt to access the second floor, which threatens to collapse under our feet. We will settle for exploring the ground floor, where there is still a small gym with a ping-pong table, a lounge with several armchairs, and a lovely bathroom. The location isn’t anything extraordinary—a quick thirty-minute tour is more than enough to get a feel for this hotel.
