Solvay Swimming Pool — Abandoned swimming pool in Charleroi

Located in the Couillet district of Charleroi, the Solvay swimming pool has been abandoned for over twenty years. Built in 1937, this imposing building once housed a restaurant, a casino, and a theater. The most recent redevelopment project was intended to transform the site into a mosque; work had even begun, but the project was halted due to a lack of funds. During my exploration, beyond the decay and vandalism, I noticed an unfinished Oriental atmosphere in the main hall. However, the most impressive feature of the site remains its vast panoramic glass roof.
