Villa Darville — Abandoned Villa in Austria

Exploring this abandoned villa, hidden in the Lower Austria region, reveals a picturesque architectural gem slowly being devoured by nature. From the first approach, the building impresses with its romantic style. Surrounded by dense vegetation and thick trees, the house stands tall with its reddish-tiled roofs and its characteristic corner turret. The exterior is full of intricate architectural details: one can observe++ a large stone statue of a woman supporting a cornice, as well as an elegant balcony in green wrought iron, beneath which sits a mascaron (a carved face). The upper arched windows are still protected by heavy dark wooden shutters, while the entrance is tucked under a large arched porch.

Inside, tiled hallways lead to a stunning stone staircase. This focal point is magnified by a wrought iron railing with fan-shaped patterns, topped by a thick wooden handrail. The exploration quickly reveals that the location had a commercial purpose in the past. Moving through the rooms, one comes across an old typed menu listing coffees, teas, and soups; orange signage pointing toward the “WC” above an old advertising poster; and even an ancient ice cream freezer left abandoned in a hall.
